Hi! My name is Pedro Casado, and I'm a web developer from Maringá - PR, Brazil. I have a 4-year undergraduate research background - from 2015 to 2019 - in the academic community of the Federal Institute, working on research, development and outreach projects in the fields of computational linguistics, semantics-focused linguistic analysis, computer vision, and, wrapped up in all of those, web development. I've always loved studying and using current technology for my projects, and I'm glad I now get to do that for a living. In 2015 I started studying and using Angular (beta-2.x) for web applications, and together with my advisors I had success in several undergraduate research projects for educational purposes. Nowadays I work as a full-stack engineer at Simple HealthKit, a US-based health platform focused on at-home lab testing, working mainly with performance, reliability and back-end infrastructure. Over my 6 years of experience, I've built and optimized systems for enterprise customers across healthcare, fintech, AI and automation, always in highly regulated environments and integrating complex third-party platforms. As a freelancer, I also build web applications and systems for any need.

Simple HealthKit — Full-stack Engineer

Milpitas, CA, USA · Dec 2025 – Present

Back-end–oriented full-stack engineer at Simple HealthKit, a US-based healthcare platform focused on at-home lab testing and public health programs. Working on systems supporting over 100k monthly patients, reducing platform incidents by more than 90% and contributing to zero-downtime deployments. Leading integrations with third-party healthcare and communication systems like Twilio and Epic, and optimizing large-scale database operations for high-volume patient audit and notification workflows.

Vinta Software — Full-stack Engineer

Back-end–oriented full-stack consultant at Vinta, building secure, HIPAA-compliant applications for US healthcare clients using React 19, TypeScript, Medplum and serverless AWS Lambda architectures. Back-end engineer on Teddy's core squad, maintaining and optimizing company-wide applications with TypeScript and Nest.js for banking automation projects. Worked with REST and RPC Node.js APIs, integrated banking systems, and built RPAs using web scraping for data integration.

Elife — Full-stack Engineer / AI Engineer

São Paulo, SP, Brazil · Aug 2021 – Jul 2024

Full-stack / AI engineer at Elife, building and integrating NLP- and LLM-based chatbots across WhatsApp, Instagram and Facebook. Developed a multichannel integration framework that cut chatbot deployment and migration time by two months, plus real-time dashboards and an integrated helpdesk for omnichannel customer support. Built on a full TypeScript stack — Nest.js and Express on the back-end, Angular on the front-end.

I maintain a few side projects in different areas, and have some small finished projects whose goal was to keep myself up to date with the latest development technologies. You can see some of them on the projects page.

I'm always looking to broaden my language skills, and I care a lot about being able to communicate clearly with anyone, regardless of their language. I'm proficient and fluent in English, and I can communicate comfortably in SpanishI've also studied a bit of German and Japanese, and can understand the basics of those languages unassisted.

On top of that, I'm a fan of RPGs and medieval fantasy lore. I have two cockatiels, Gandalf (after Tolkien) and Leia (after George Lucas). I love souls-likes, roguelikes and action RPGs. My hobby is being a home bartender, making cocktails and liqueurs for my parents and siblings. I also enjoy cooking all kinds of risotto.
